This project is part of the new campus masterplan expansion for Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Clovis, NM. One of the main goals of locating the new Physicians Office Building on the hospital campus is its proximity to the main PRMC Hospital – which will greatly benefit the patients requiring more extensive testing and/or treatment. The large light-filled lobby space generates an open and inviting atmosphere.

The office space was designed in a flexible arrangement to accommodate a variety of potential health care tenants for outpatient use. Each tenant had different space and infrastructure needs but core facilities including teleconferencing, conference rooms, mechanical/electrical and data were all shared and designed-in to handle multiple configurations.

Just off the 101 on El Camino Real between LA and the Bay Area, the town of 10,000 is still considered the back road. Unlike other developments in Greenfield that have opted to emulate city strip malls, La Plaza respects the lines of the original city grid that encouraged pedestrian life and dialogue. There are three components to La Plaza: the Café, the Patio, and the Mercado, each with their own distinct architectural character. The mayor and commissioners hold informal gatherings at La Plaza, which has its own persona in a landscape where simple lives are noticed.

A new twist to the traditional coffee house required a new interior architecture and tenant improvement concept, involving a total transformation into a juice/coffee bar and café in which goods are presented in a theatrical atmosphere of color, texture, light, and space. Two distinct setting ideas and visual palettes respond to the life-styles and cultures associated with serving juice and coffee. The European café seating and hand finished character reference the traditions of serving fine coffees, while the fresh fruits and exotic juices naturally mingle with Gauguin’s Tahitian colors, the thatch-like kiosk, and the tropically inspired paintings.
