The design of the Roswell Public Library, a cornerstone of Roswell culture since this southeastern New Mexico’s city’s earliest days, reflects the trend in library design today that suggests libraries be more open, engaging, and dynamic. Entry and circulation areas are naturally lit, providing ample space for movement and small group discussions. Reading areas are identifiable from the exterior as ‘glass pavilions.’ On the interior, they are identified as inviting, light filled reading rooms with comfortable sitting areas.
