Locally quarried stone clads the Guadalupe County Hospital, and is indicative of the strong focus on community that influenced the planning and design of Guadalupe County Hospital. The hospital is Guadalupe County’s largest building, and as such, supports activities extending beyond medical care. Hospitality-oriented interior design helps welcome the county’s residents to the facility and communicates a feeling of accessibility.

Guadalupe County consists of many tight-knit New Mexican families who have resided in the county for generations. Often, nuclear and extended families accompany patients on hospital visits or longer-term stays. A family lounge with full kitchen; oversized waiting area with fireplace, television, and children’s play area; a dedicated space for meditation / reflection; and exterior courtyards all contribute to the extended comfort of patients and family members. Selected finishes project a residential feel, yet still conform to Facility Guidelines Institute guidelines for healthcare and best practices for infection control.

Guadalupe County Hospital is a LEED for New Construction project and is anticipating LEED Silver Certification.
